Welcome to Masjid Noor-Ul-Huda (MNH) of the Greater Columbia Region of South Carolina. It is our honor to welcome you to the official website of MNH. Insha’Allah, our goal for developing this website is to provide an easy platform for the community to access information about the various programs of religious and social significance that are hosted for the community members by MNH.
Most importantly, we would like to communicate to everyone that MNH is open for five daily prayers in congregation every day of the year. We humbly invite you to populate the Masjid for congregational daily prayers and various other activities.
Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
” He who purifies himself (performs Wudhu) in his house and then walks to one of the houses of Allah (Masjid) for performing an obligatory prayers (Salat), one step of his will wipe out his sins and another step will elevate his rank (in Jannah-Paradise). ” [Sahih Muslim]
May Allah, through his infinite mercy, guide us all towards success in this world and the hereafter, and forgive us our transgressions and shortcomings.

Masjid Noor-Ul-Huda (MNH)® was founded in 2003 by a few community members under the guidance and support of Mohammed Ansar Ahmed Shami and his family members. The MNH land property was donated as a gift for sole use as a Masjid (Islamic Place of Worship) and its associated activities in the name of Allah. MNH land property is fully dedicated for the sole religious use by the muslim families of the Columbia, SC Region. Masjid Noor-Ul-Huda, a House of Allah, has always been maintained and operated with funding primarily from the local muslim community members.
MNH has been founded on the principles of Islam as expressed in the Hadith of Jibraeel which identifies three dimensions in the religion namely, Islam, Iman, and Ihsan (tasawwuf). MNH congregants are Sunni Muslims following the teachings of the Hanafi School of thought in light of the Holy Quran and Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him). The objective of the establishment of MNH was to meet the growing religious and social needs of the Muslim Community of the Greater Columbia Region and South Carolina. By the grace of Allah, MNH started off with a few families, and over the last 10-years, this number has dramatically increased to over 150+ members/families.
MNH is open for five times daily prayers with congregation with a dedicated Imam who resides in the immediate proximity of the MNH property. The Masjid frequently organizes special events for the enhancement of knowledge and understanding of Islam. The Masjid also periodically hosts inter-faith programs that are attended by leaders of various faiths and communities. Such programs bring people of different faiths together and enhance understanding and goodwill amongst them.
