About Us

Masjid Noor Ul Huda (MNH), a 501 (C3) Tax Exempt organization, is one of the oldest Masajid (mosques) serving the Muslim Community of Greater Columbia, South Carolina. MNH is well known for its friendly, open environment, upholding moderate Islamic values and serving humanity with love, mercy, care, and compassion. MNH ideology is to follow mainstream Islam, based on the revered Hadeeth (prophetic saying) that defines Islam (devotion to The Almighty), Imaan (faith)  and Ehsan (excellence in conduct). We strive for the pleasure of Allah (God), love for the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) and the spiritual unity of the Muslim Ummah (Global Community), starting at the grass root level.

MNH offers a comprehensive range of religious and social programs and services besides a well established D'awah (community outreach) program in partnership with PICNA - Peace and Integration Council of North America to convey the beautiful message of Islam.

Finally, MNH is embarking on an ambitious project to build a multipurpose Community Building, meaningfully named as the 'Dream Project' that would include a D'awah Center, an Islamic School, a Hifz School, a large enough Masjid Hall that can be used as a Banquet/Events Hall as well as a Gym.

Our
Story

MNH started its operation in the Holy Month on Ramadan in 2004 on a 2.5 acre parcel. Through the years, we acquired more land and we are now blessed to own nearly nine acres in the heart of town. In 2017, we started the first phase of our development, building the  infrastructure for future construction needs.

We now have a soccer field with two cricket pitches on the side and two basketball courts on our premises. In 2022, we started working on our Dream Project to accomplish our long term goal of providing the Greater Columbia Muslim Community with top quality facilities for the current and future generations.

Imam

Hafiz Mohammad Bashir

Imam Bashir joined MNH in 2008. Imam Bashir is highly qualified with Masters Degrees in Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Education. He is a 'Hafiz' - one who has memorized the entire Qur'an. Imam Bashir completed his Islamic education from a prestigious institution that is affiliated with Jamia Al Azhar - the most reputed Islamic University in the world. With a charismatic personality and a lovable nature, he commands respect in the entire Muslim community and is adored equally by parents and youth. Hundreds of people have accepted Islam as a direct result of his unique style of D'awah.
